Like its big sibling, Forge, Weld is made from a heathered blend of domestically-sourced 70% Merino and 30% Corriedale wool. Weld is a well-balanced three-ply yarn, with a slightly more energetic twist for strength and durability. It has a beautiful balance of stitch definition, bounce, and wooly, cohesive bloom that produces both beautiful stockinette fabrics and delicate lace, texture, and brioche, and is perfect for stranded colorwork. Weld blooms beautifully and easily knits up on larger needles; we like it on anywhere from a US 3 to a US 6 (3.25 to 4.00 mm), depending on the application.
Sourced domestically—fine Merino in white and grey from larger ranches in Colorado and New Mexico, and Corriedale in a variety of natural colors from smaller farmers
Weld is spun and dyed at Mountain Meadow Wool in Buffalo, Wyoming.
